In the eyes of a teenager a Step-Mother could do little right. This recipe was the exception. She could bring peace through food in our house with this simple recipe. The aroma while this little desert is cooking is intoxicating and soothing. You will eat this dessert until the pan is empty. (No Leftovers) - unless you have had a gastric bypass surgery.

Pre - Heat Oven to 350 Degrees

Ingredients:

1 Duncan Heinz Yellow Cake Mix
2 Cans of Cherry Pie Filling
2 Sticks of Real Butter

Empty the two cans of cherry pie filling into a large rectangular shallow baking dish. Spread evenly in dish. Next evenly sprinkle the yellow cake mix (dry) on top of the cherry filling. (Do not worry about large pieces of cake mix stuck together). Finally melt the butter and drizzle it all over the top.

Place in oven (middle rack) for about 1 hour – Depending on your oven and where you live ( elevation ) it may take up to 1 1/2 hours.

The top should be light golden brown when done.

Note: mixing the cherry pie filling and the cake mix together will yield a result that is NOT very appetizing. (tried it once). Keep it simple and it will be great!
